George Goldman

Former President and CEO

George Goldman is an accomplished international shipping executive with 40 years of supply chain experience. He has served as President and CEO of several prominent container shipping lines, most recently CMA CGM North America and American President Lines, LLC (APL) and previously as President of ZIM American Integrated Shipping Services, USA. During his 25-year tenure at APL, Goldman held various senior executive roles in international posts including Hong Kong, Singapore, and Shanghai. Goldman also served as Executive Chairman of Greenabl Shippers Association; the industry’s first cooperative procurement group committed to decarbonization. Goldman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Cybernetic Systems from San Jose State University in San Jose, Calif., and attended executive managements courses at New York University in Manhattan, N.Y., and the University of Michigan. He currently serves on the board of directors for Greenabl Shippers Association, and previously as board member of Commercial Management Ltd (Hong Kong Liner Shipping Association), Chairman of the Transportation and Logistics Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce (Shanghai and Hong Kong), and former member of the Northwestern University Transportation Center Business Advisory Council. Known for his strategic vision and collaborative leadership style, Goldman fosters a culture of excellence within his teams, driving forward-thinking solutions. His family immigrated from the Netherlands, and he was raised in the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area. Goldman brings a cross-cultural perspective with an appreciation for efficiency and international collaboration. George and his wife Aimee spend their time between Nashville, Tn. and the Bay Area. Outside of the office, Goldman enjoys cycling, tennis, basketball and off roading and exploring. He also enjoys spending time with his family.
