Michael Symonanis brings over 30 years of experience in international container shipping, shaping solutions with an unwavering commitment to precision. Now in his 20th year with Louis Dreyfus Company in Memphis, Tennessee, his dual experience as a Beneficial Cargo Owner (BCO) and ocean carrier has honed his ability to identify and drive meaningful change.
A graduate of Iowa State University in business and international studies, Michael sharpened his strategic outlook through advanced degrees in supply chain management from Penn State and organizational leadership from Gonzaga University.
As Chair of the ACSA Transportation Committee and the National Shipper Advisory Committee, Michael collaborates with shippers, suppliers, and regulators to improve export efficiency and advance data transparency, fostering innovation while reinforcing supply chain resilience.
Through his participation in Leaders in Logistics, Michael shares lessons learned and practical insights, building on the legacy of industry leaders like Sheila Bracken and the late Steve Wyman. He remains dedicated to helping the industry adapt to evolving challenges while staying grounded in its core principles.
